Boost XP includes a very basic appointment planner. It helps
you remember important dates and pops up a message to remember you an important
event. Use is very simple. Just adjust the date and time in which you want to
add an event from calendar. Adjust the Hours and minutes from below spin
buttons. Hours are from 0-23 and minutes range from 0-59. Then Click Add. A
window will popup and from it enter a description. That's all. For the rest
Boost XP takes care automatically.
Boost XP lets you fine tune your Windows Logon System. Many
times you do not feel to enter the password at logon time. Use this feature of
Boost XP to force Windows to pass over the 'Enter user password' dialog on
startup. Just enter your default user details and check the 'Enable Auto-Logon'
to enable the Windows Auto-Logon. Once the Auto-Logon is enabled, Windows XP
will log on the user you've specified - there won't be any need to enter your
user details on startup.
How to use this feature
Enter the username you want to log in automatically on startup
Enter the domain name your computer belongs to (if you do not know your domain
name, check the 'System Properties' of your Windows machine (Right Click My
Computer Icon on Desktop and Select Properties) - you'll find your domain name
there.
Enter the password for the user you want to logon automatically.
Check the 'Enable Windows XP Auto-Logon' checkbox.
Disable the Auto-Logon 'Shift Override' feature: When using the automatic
login feature it is possible for a user to hold the Shift key to bypass the
login sequence and enter a username and password. This feature disables the
ability to override the function.
Limit the Number of Automatic Logins: This option is used to limit the
number of automatic logins. Once the limit has been reached the auto logon
feature will be disabled and the system will display the standard authentication
box.
Hide Usernames from the Logon Screen: specify a username in the textbox
left of the 'Add to list' button, click the 'Add to list' button and the
specified username will be removed from the Windows XP logon screen. To
re-display a username, select it from the list and click the 'Remove' button.
Hide Last Logon Username : Many times a password of
user can be guessed by looking at its login name. Windows remember the last user
login name and displays it in the login box. You can disable this feature
by checking this checkbox.
Show unread mail on logon screen : Windows XP shows
unread mail count on the logon screen. This sometimes looks good but is also a
privacy risk. You can enable or disable this feature by checking/un-checking
this check box.
Use Classic logon Screen : Windows XP includes a new
logon feature. I personally use the new logon screen. But if you are comfortable
with old logon window you can enable/disable this from here.
